ChristianaCare is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Neurocritical Care team! This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous critical care experience. The selected candidate will work 80-hours every 2 weeks, a combination of 12- hour shifts days and nights, to include weekends.
Our state of the art, eighteen bed Neurocritical Care Intensive Care unit and six bed stepdown unit including 2 rooms with epilepsy monitoring capability are located on our Newark campus. The ideal Advanced Practice Clinician candidate will be comfortable working independently in collaboration with the neurocritical intensivist performing direct medical management utilizing approved protocols, procedures and expert consultation for our adult neurocritical care patients. APCs on this team are involved in quality, safety and experience improvement initiatives.

- Manage care plans and treat patients with acute ischemic stroke (s/p TPA, mechanical thrombectomy, malignant stroke), non-traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage, non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage, Status epilepticus, Meningitis/encephalitis, post-surgical management of patients with CNS tumors and cerebrovascular interventions

Position Qualifications
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner must be a graduate of an accredited program and be certified of eligible for certification.
- Physician Assistant must be a graduate of ARC-PA accredited program and be certified or eligible for certification by the NCCPA
- Licensed or license eligible for the state of DE
- Must have or be eligible to obtain prescriptive authority
- Previous critical care experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
