Penn Medicine LG Health is seeking a full time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Neuroscience team. As a provider in our fast-paced Neuroscience environment, this APP will provide inpatient care for both our neurology & neurosurgical patient populations. The role involves initial diagnosis and acute management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, neurosurgical post-op patients, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, rare headache conditions, and neurologic complications of other critical conditions such as cardiac arrest, sepsis, and non-neurologic surgical procedures. There are no operative responsibilities included in this position. Our Neuroscience APP team functions all over the hospital primarily as a consultant service in both emergent and non-emergent settings.
The Neuroscience APP position also allows for both incredible autonomy mixed with support from a friendly and collaborative team. Our team is excited to share our clinical expertise in diagnosis and management of a wide variety of neurological conditions to interested and motivated candidates. We have an interest and focus in elevating the level of neurologic knowledge of our patients and community, therefore we are constantly learning as a team to deliver the highest quality care.
SCHEDULE:
Full-time; Days & Evenings with intermittent nightshift coverage. The opportunity to tailor these hours to accommodate individual preferences will be considered. Team members will rotate responsibility for holidays and weekends but with a growing team there is increasing flexibility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Nurse Practitioner
Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required (Acute Care NP certification required).
Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
Effective August 1st, 2023, the certification of the nurse practitioner must align with the population the nurse practitioner will primarily be caring for unless otherwise determined by the Chief Nursing Officer and in accordance with hospital practice needs.
Experience in Neurology preferred.
Physician Assistant
Current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine.
Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program.
Minimum one year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
Experience in neurology is preferred
