,
Available CE Hour(s): 1.0
Seizures are a serious complication of neurological insults. Seizure prophylaxis is a common practice in various acute neurological injuries that include traumatic brain injury, intracranial hemorrhage, ischemic stroke, brain neoplasms, cerebrovascular malformations, and infections. Controversies still exist as to which patients should receive seizure prophylaxis, which antiseizure therapy is the ideal agent and the duration of prophylaxis. In this webinar, we review the evidence for seizure prophylaxis in commonly encountered neurological conditions and discuss the ideal agent for seizure prophylaxis and the duration of prophylaxis.
